Psychotropic Medication

The Institute has two practitioners who can prescribe medication, our psychiatrist and our nurse practitioner. The other four clinicians have extensive experience in the signs and symptoms of psychiatric disorders and may refer clients for evaluation by these two providers for evaluation. When indicated, the right psychotropic medication, combined with psychotherapy, has been shown by research to be the most effective form of treatment for the more serious or long standing psychiatric problems. Psychotropic medications are only prescribed when necessary and both prescribing clinicians are conservative in the practice of psychiatric medicine.
