Eric Rosen, Ph. D. FPPR
As a point of introduction, Dr. Rosen holds a Ph.D. from the State University of NY at Buffalo, and is both a licensed psychologist in NY and Florida, with permanent NY State Certification in School Psychology as well, having come to Florida in 1994 to direct a program at a local hospital for adults and children.
He has specialization in working with individuals across the life span; families, couples, children, and adolescents. Dr. Rosen holds an adjunct instructor position with Argosy University-Tampa, an A.P.A. accredited clinical psychology doctoral Psy.D. program where he teaches and supervises doctoral students in both assessment, psychological testing and evaluation, Clinical Hypnotherapy, clinical psychopharmacology, and clinical psychotherapy treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and families. He has specialization in both psychological testing/ and psychotherapy treatment with children and adults with ADHD, learning disabilities, emotional behavioral issues, and developmental concerns including ASD/Autism, and is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons. He also engages in forensic work with adults and children, and has a diplomate fellow in psychopharmacology which provides a solid foundation for understanding and recognizing the value of medications useful for treating various emotional behavioral concerns. Dr. Rosen also has IACT Certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy and is an IACT Master Trainer in Clinical Hypnotherapy, useful in treating issues related to pain management, habit control, trauma issues, addiction issues, medical psychology issues, and boosting self confidence and performance enhancement with children and adults. Dr. Rosen also is approved and trained for administration of Cog Med, a Working Memory training program for children and adults with ADHD, as well as those with Bipolar Disorder, which improves processing speed and working memory and focus helpful to improving academic and work performance, and test performance enhancement.
Dr. Rosen works with blended family issues and divorce, dual diagnosis concerns, anxiety, OCD, panic disorders, depression, life transition difficulties, seniors, college age concerns, mid life issues, couples work, LGBT issues, trauma/loss/and PTSD issues, and psychotic disorders. He is approved by local school systems for independent psychoeducational assessments and consults with school systems. Dr. Rosen also has experience with Due Process cases, gifted testing, and can help families and schools through participation in 504, IEP, RTF, and Parent-Teacher planning meetings helping augment children’s learning needs and strengthening the Parent-Teacher partnership.Dr. Rosen’s approach is positive, solution focused, recognizing the value of working with families and family systems work, and through cognitive behavioral techniques.
