In Stephen's own words...
"The initial attraction I had for Psychology was a fascination with people and relationships. I always enjoyed listening to my father converse with other people. That experience was the foundation for listening skills I would hone through training as a Psychotherapist. When I began working with people I felt a great sense of personal fulfillment and purpose. I believe that God has given me certain gifts to be more than a good listener, to be a skilled therapist who can help people attain the growth they so desire. I have a wonderful wife of twenty years and two great teenage sons. I enjoy taking walks on the beach, traveling, exercise, music, reading and worship."

"I am grateful for such a diverse range of experience in the field of mental health counseling. I started out in 1990 as a counselor for GCJFS and I began working with people diagnosed with acute depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and AIDS. Later on I was able to facilitate groups and was exposed to a wide range of psychotherapeutic styles. I worked as an HIV coordinator for TLC nursing home and ran groups in conjunction with Boley Centers for dually diagnosed people who had a loss. I also supervised other counselors through Suncoast Hospice. Each of these experiences has served to broaden my areas of expertise and I am grateful for each of these opportunities to help others in this great community."
